Total Mileage: 353.3 miles

Today’s Photo

The story behind this photo ...

Today we got on the trail around 7:15 am. We had a nice 9.3 mile hike to Amee and Froning. The first half was along a ridge. Beautiful views and good trail. Then we dropped down into a valley and hiked along a river for like 3-4 miles. The trail was even apparently handicap accessible. See photos below.

When we got to Amee we officially hit the 1500 mile mark of the AT. Now we only have a little less than 700 miles to go. I think if we avg 10 miles a day we will make it just before I need to return to work. Will be praying for it!

Also today, the Wilson family came to visit us.  They are vacation and was headed to NYC so they made a quick detour to CT to hang with us! It was a perfect day for lunch and they brought the boys some Pringles (their favorite!).

The kids played in the river and then we went up to the upper falls. They were pretty amazing

We then left tinge Wilson’s after a couple of hours of fun and fellowship! And hiked our last 3 miles to the shelter. It was a long climb but well graded and actually pretty pleasant!

The forget me nots are in bloom here. Such delicate and lovely flowers.

We are eating supper and enjoying doing our journals. There are like 4 other hikers here at this shelter even though it took a 0.5 mile hike down steep terrain to get here. I surely thought we would be totally alone. lol.

Easy days tomorrow and the following day as we enter into MA! Stay tuned!
